anti-book-snob

For some reason I find fantasy books much more believable than mainstream fiction. I mostly read fantasy and all sub-genres but if overwhelmed with curiosity I'll occasionally read a 'norm' book.

I am an author also but I am mostly on this site to connect as a reader.

Trial by Fire

Trial by Fire - Josephine Angelini 3.5 stars

Great world building and interesting ideas throughout. I loved the first 90% and suffered through the last 10%, weirdly. The ending just seemed a little forced, less a culmination of the plot and more a yeah, so this happens... And it's super duper dramatic and tense....and then it's supposed to be emotional, then it's done (with a cliffhanger of course). Just didn't really work for me. But the book was seriously awesome for almost all of it, then just fell flat.
