anti-book-snob

For some reason I find fantasy books much more believable than mainstream fiction. I mostly read fantasy and all sub-genres but if overwhelmed with curiosity I'll occasionally read a 'norm' book.

I am an author also but I am mostly on this site to connect as a reader.

Shatter Me

Shatter Me - Tahereh Mafi My goodness, talk about a fantastic debut. I've been on a 'debut author' kick lately and I'm amazed... amazed! This book kept me enthralled, twisted my insides, I barely slept... so forgive my disjointed review but yeah, wow.
The only criticism I would offer is that the analogies, metaphors and similes were a bit thick on the ground. Don't get me wrong, I love a good metaphor and Mafi is a metaphor artist; but a metaphor per sentence gets a little wordy.
That said, I read the book in record time (for me) and added it to my favorite list before I even finished it... so, yeah.
