anti-book-snob

For some reason I find fantasy books much more believable than mainstream fiction. I mostly read fantasy and all sub-genres but if overwhelmed with curiosity I'll occasionally read a 'norm' book.

I am an author also but I am mostly on this site to connect as a reader.

City of Lost Souls

City of Lost Souls - Cassandra Clare So.... this book was amazing. It was almost a five star book. Or, should I say it had a five star book within it? But why drag our attention from the story with superfluous characters and persistent side-plots? Who cares? It's like adding A1 sauce to a filet mignon, unnecessary and distracting. There were too many side plots, Maia and Jordan, Luke and Jocelyn, Isabelle and Simon, Simon and his fam, Magnus and Alec... And so on....

But, it was great all the same. I started it twice before I read it through, but when the novel finnally gets into the meat of the plot (it takes a while), the book was hard to put down.
