anti-book-snob

For some reason I find fantasy books much more believable than mainstream fiction. I mostly read fantasy and all sub-genres but if overwhelmed with curiosity I'll occasionally read a 'norm' book.

I am an author also but I am mostly on this site to connect as a reader.

The Burning Sky (The Elemental Trilogy)

The Burning Sky (The Elemental Trilogy) - Sherry Thomas I'd say about a 3.5 ish
This book was very good. Great world building. The characters definitely had their moments. Dialogue was hilarious at parts.

The books biggest sin was ironically what drew me to this book in the first place, it's written by a romance writer. I've had great success reading YA books written by adult romance writers... but this one definitely tasted a bit like the good old romance formula...which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Just as a person who reads ALOT ALOT, the formula is, well, a bit repetitive. If you don't know what formula I'm talking about, don't sweat it!! It probably won't bother you.

Anyhow, great book.
