anti-book-snob

For some reason I find fantasy books much more believable than mainstream fiction. I mostly read fantasy and all sub-genres but if overwhelmed with curiosity I'll occasionally read a 'norm' book.

I am an author also but I am mostly on this site to connect as a reader.

The Novice

The Novice - Trudi Canavan This was a very hard book for me, and even though I mostly loved it I thought about giving up more than once. We might have learned to punch back, we might have grown up, but I think many of us have a bullied little child still cowering inside of us. The main character isn't a child, but the bullying she has to endure from her classmates could only be called abuse, and the blind eyes her teachers turn on the conflict ---just breaks the heart. But it really was a great book, really slow in some parts (mostly with the side characters), but mostly great.
