anti-book-snob

For some reason I find fantasy books much more believable than mainstream fiction. I mostly read fantasy and all sub-genres but if overwhelmed with curiosity I'll occasionally read a 'norm' book.

I am an author also but I am mostly on this site to connect as a reader.

The Selection

The Selection - Kiera Cass Wow...
I started this book three times and DNF'd each time. There were two primary reasons a) her name is America Singer and b) the world concept just seemed silly. But I kept getting the book sugested to me and seriously...the ratings were just too high to be ignored. So I came back to this book, pushed through the rather silly beginning and finished the book in 24 hours.
This book was definitely as advertised "the bachlor meets the hunger games" for sure it even rips a couple things from each (songbird pin anyone?). I know this drives some people CRAZY...But the more I read, the less this really bothers me, (I mean got my BA in Art History, never really got mad at Picasso for ripping off Cezanne either).
Anyhow, I enjoyed the book. It's worth a read if you're looking for something lighthearted.
